Many adolescents struggle to cope with physical, emotional and social changes while attempting to establish a sense of self and greater independence. In our work together, we will establish an understanding of the impact of our thoughts on feelings and behaviors to create a greater sense of self efficacy over our emotions and a sense of acceptance for life events. After our initial assessment, we will work together to develop a treatment plan that works for you and your family.       <image:caption>Jasmine Amirian, LCSW Jasmine Amirian is a New York City based psychotherapist with 10+ years of experience in the field of mental health. She received her Master’s degree in Social Work from New York University (NYU) and her BA in psychology as well as child and adolescent mental health studies from NYU. She completed her clinical training at Maimonides Hospital working with children and adolescents in their outpatient center providing individual, family, and group therapy. She went on to work for a community outpatient center with The Jewish Board where she worked with children, adolescents, and adults. During her time there, she developed a therapy program for children and adolescents with ADHD focused on sharpening social skills and emotional regulation skills. She is certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) for trauma work with children and adolescents. In conjunction with her private practice, Jasmine continues to work as an independent provider for the Department of Education (DOE) to provide counseling services to children with IEPs and IESPs in NYC private schools.</image:caption>
